The Milk Carton Boats were created by myself and children from six Minneapolis Recreation Centers for the Minneapolis Aquatennial 2011 Milk Carton Boat Race on Lake Calhoun. I organized 4 building and design workshops at each Rec Center and worked with the kids to create boats that could float four to five riders. Science, math and art were wonderfully integrated into all we did!. The kids were thrilled that all the boats FLOATED and carried as many as seven passengers!
